Saturn is in Aries.
Hold on to your hats and glasses, because we’re in for a wild ride.
Saturn’s Aries transit happens in two passes (because of the retrograde back into Pisces):
May 24, 2025 → September 1, 2025 (about 3 months, 8 days)
February 13, 2026 → April 12, 2028 (about 2 years, 1 month, 30 days)
First, Saturn
Saturn gets a bad rap.
One of the two so-called “malefic” planets, Saturn is associated with the dreaded Saturn return, hardship, restriction, and the slow grind of consequence.
My first thought about Saturn, the Greek Titan Cronos (Roman’s called him Saturn) devouring his children.
So if you’ll indulge me, let me tell you a story.
The Prophecy & the Panic
After overthrowing his father, Uranus, Cronus seizes the throne—and immediately inherits the curse of succession. The prophecy is clean and brutal: one of your children will do to you what you did to your father.
So he tries to outmaneuver fate the only way a tyrant knows how—through containment.
Every child born to Rhea—Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades, and Poseidon—is swallowed at birth.
No rivals.
No succession.
No uncertainty.
Total control of the bloodline.
Rhea’s Countermove
But Rhea, the mother of the children, refuses annihilation disguised as order. When her sixth child is born, she hides him in a Cretan cave and hands Cronus a stone wrapped in swaddling cloth. He swallows it without question.
The tyrant who devours his children cannot recognize what he consumes.
The child—Zeus—lives.
The Reversal
When Zeus comes of age, he doesn’t attack blindly. With the help of Metis, he infiltrates. Disguised as a cupbearer, he poisons the system from within.
Cronus is forced to vomit up what he tried to erase:
the stone.
the siblings.
the future.
Containment fails.
The Titanomachy
Zeus frees the imprisoned powers—Cyclopes and Hecatoncheires—from Tartarus. He arms himself with lightning. The war lasts ten years. Titans versus Olympians. Old brutality versus emerging order.
The battlefield is cosmic. The outcome inevitable.
The Fall
Cronus is defeated and cast into Tartarus.
This is the real transition:
from devouring authority to structured sovereignty.
from fear-based rule to codified hierarchy.
In Roman myth, Cronus becomes Saturn, and Zeus becomes Jupiter—but the pattern holds.
The old regime tries to swallow the future.
The future survives anyway.
Power doesn’t disappear.
It reorganizes.
….Has anyone read the news Lately?
I love an archetype.
(psst want more on Cronus? I wrote about Cronus and time and tarot for the tarot series)
So what does this tell us about Saturn the planet?
Saturn is containment and time. In terms of manifestation, Saturn pulls energy in to physical reality. It creates edges.
It is:
boundaries
limits
consequence
endings
structural authority
time as an enforcing mechanism
Cronos eats his children because he is trying to stop time from moving forward.
But Saturn’s higher function is not stagnation. It is right timing.
Saturn enforces temporal reality.
It prevents endless churn.
It purges what is no longer aligned.
It solidifies what is.
In alchemy:
Operation: Calcination
Phase: Nigredo
This is the burn-down. The reduction. The moment where ego and illusion are incinerated so structure can emerge.

Enjoying my work? support a Witch. Joining paid supports the hours of research going into each post. My goal is to make witchcraft accessible but also to back the “woo” in science, occultist wisdom, and master process. This transit marks an important transition for me also, in that I am taking this work full time. I’m so excited to bring more tarot, quantum theory, alchemy, and astrology to you in an approachable way that applies to your actual life.
Saturn in Aries
When Saturn is in Aries, the recurring tone is:
Will meets consequence. Saturn falls in Aries. Meaning that Saturn operates the least smoothly here. Saturns structure mets Aries fire and we see, well, friction.
Aries wants:
speed
assertion
ignition
“I am”
“I act”
Saturn asks:
At what cost?
Under what law?
For how long?
With what responsibility?
So historically, Saturn-in-Aries windows tend to correlate (symbolically, not causally) with:
militarization + hard choices about conflict
identity being formalized (rights, borders, sovereignty)
crackdowns + emergency measures
disciplined pioneering (engineering, aerospace, institutional founding)
leadership tests (who can actually hold power?)
Aries initiates.
Saturn makes it permanent.
Historical Saturn-in-Aries Windows
1937–1940
Escalation + hard borders
4
During this Saturn-in-Aries window:
Anschluss (March 12, 1938) — Austria annexed into Nazi Germany
Munich Agreement (Sept 30, 1938) — appeasement under pressure
Invasion of Poland (Sept 1, 1939) — World War II begins
Winter War (Nov 30, 1939) — Soviet invasion of Finland
Symbolic read:
Lines on maps become lethal.
Aggression meets consequence.
National identity hardens into military reality.
This is Aries fire being forced through Saturn’s law.
1967–1969
Confrontation + disciplined “firsts”
Key events:
Six-Day War (June 5, 1967)
Prague Spring (1968) — reform attempt → Soviet suppression
Apollo 8 (Dec 21, 1968) — first crewed lunar orbit
Symbolic read:
Bold declarations collide with geopolitical structure.
Daring requires discipline.
The first humans orbiting the Moon is pure Aries courage — but entirely Saturn in execution. No engineering tolerance for ego.
1996–1999
Sovereignty resets + new thresholds
Key events:
Dolly the sheep (July 5, 1996) — biotech frontier
Hong Kong handover (July 1, 1997) — sovereignty transition
Good Friday Agreement (Apr 10, 1998) — structured peace
Kosovo War (1998) — ethnic identity + intervention
Symbolic read:
Who governs?
Who owns the future?
Where are the borders — biologically, politically, ethically?
Saturn in Aries demands that new worlds come with rules.
The Pattern Across All Three Eras
When Saturn enters Aries:
Identity becomes serious.
Leadership is tested.
War and sovereignty questions intensify.
Daring initiatives require structural maturity.
Impulse either grows up — or breaks against reality.
It is not a soft transit.
It is a proving ground.
Neptune in Aries = the meaning-layer ignites (myth, ideals, identity-dreams, crusade energy, spiritual courage)
Saturn in Aries = the accountability-layer arrives (consequence, law, structure, pruning, “prove it”)
So from Feb 13, 2026 to Apr 12, 2028, we’re inside a rare overlap: Saturn in Aries AND Neptune in Aries.
And the bigger Neptune backdrop runs Jan 26, 2026 to May 21, 2038 (with a final Aries return later in 2038–2039).
Saturn in Aries + Neptune in Aries: the combined signature
The core formula
Neptune in Aries: “I believe.” / “I am called.” / “I will initiate a new story.”
Saturn in Aries: “Then build it.” / “Pay the cost.” / “Live the consequences.”
This is the dream (Neptune) trying to become a spine (Saturn) — in the sign of ignition (Aries).
So the overarching theme is:
Myth becomes actionable
Not “truth arrives,” but: belief becomes behavior.
And behavior becomes structure.
If Neptune in Pisces was an era of fog, Neptune in Aries is fog with a match.
Saturn’s job in the overlap is to decide what survives the fire.
What it looks like collectively
1) Values harden into identity (and identity becomes policy)
During this overlap, you tend to see:
ideology becoming the organizing principle again (“this is what we stand for”)
less tolerance for ambiguity
movements demanding enforcement, not just awareness
This can be high-road (integrity, responsibility), or low-road (purity culture, crusades).
2) “Spiritual courage” vs “spiritualized ego”
Neptune-in-Aries can produce visionary leadership.
Saturn-in-Aries tests whether it’s:
devotion (practice, humility, consistency)
ora costume (aesthetic certainty, savior complexes)
Saturn doesn’t care how inspired you feel. It cares what you can hold.
3) Reality-check season for collective myths
This is a transit combo that often exposes:
brand messiahs
charismatic myth-makers
movements built on vibes without infrastructure
narratives that can’t survive contact with receipts
Saturn in Aries is brutal about “show me the real.”
What it looks like internally
Neptune in Aries can make a part feel like a prophet.
Saturn in Aries forces the system to ask: Can you actually steward that role?
So the practice becomes:
integration over possession
devotion over fantasy
structure that protects sensitivity (instead of sensitivity running the whole house)
The “shadow menu”
High expression
disciplined initiation
values-based leadership
courageous creativity with follow-through
building institutions that match ideals
“I choose” without needing certainty
Shadow expression
holy-war energy (literal or social)
aestheticized violence / righteousness addiction
misinformation powered by conviction
authoritarian “truth” enforcement
impulsive choices baptized as destiny
This is the combo where “feels true” (Neptune) + “I’m right” (Aries) + “now it’s law” (Saturn) can get dangerous fast.
Timing notes
• Neptune in Aries Mar 30, 2025 → Oct 22, 2025
Neptune back into Pisces Oct 22, 2025 → Jan 26, 2026
Neptune re-enters Aries Jan 26, 2026 (long stay begins)
Then the Saturn layer clicks in:
Saturn in Aries (preview) May 24, 2025 → Sep 1, 2025
Saturn in Aries (main) Feb 13, 2026 → Apr 12, 2028
Meaning: 2026–2028 is the “make it real” portion of Neptune-in-Aries. Saturn demands receipts
Neptune in Aries is the dream of self. Saturn in Aries is the audit.
Together, they describe a collective phase where people stop dissolving and start declaring — and then have to live with what they declared. Beliefs want embodiment. Values want structure. Visions want governance. The gift is courageous integrity: initiating a new story and building it so it lasts. The shadow is crusade psychology: conviction becoming contagion, identity becoming weapon, ideals hardening into law without humility.
Historically,
We last saw these two in Aries in 1702-1704 (ish) with action peaking in 1703. When Saturn and Neptune conjoin in Aries, history often clusters around:
martyrdom / sacrifice narratives (meaning → enforced ending)
new state architecture (vision → infrastructure)
storms of belief + storms of nature (Neptune) followed by hard accounting (Saturn)
legitimacy crises that become wars, treaties, borders
Events:
Honor / devotion becomes law + consequence (Japan)
The Akō incident / Forty-seven rōnin culminates in the rōnin being sentenced to ritual suicide (seppuku) on Feb 4, 1703.
Neptune (ideal, loyalty myth) + Aries (action, blade) + Saturn (sentence, closure).
A vision becomes infrastructure (Russia)
St. Petersburg is founded May 27, 1703 by Peter the Great.
Neptune (vision) + Aries (initiation) + Saturn (state-building, literal construction).
Neptune shows up as weather/sea; Saturn as damage and reckoning (Britain)
The Great Storm of 1703 hits 26–27 November 1703, causing catastrophic destruction and mass deaths.
Neptune (oceanic overwhelm) + Saturn (structural collapse, aftershock accounting).
Neptune in Aries ignites belief — identity as destiny, devotion as action.
Saturn in Aries enforces it — consequence, structure, cost.
Together, they describe a moment when the story stops being abstract and starts being embodied.
The dream doesn’t just inspire.
It gets built, and paid for.
Speaking of building, I went HARD on Saturn. Like, so hard I needed a new place to put it. So I added a patreon for more content, that won’t drip through your inbox. I posted correspondence tables, Saturn through the houses, and more.
If this is your “prove it” season — it’s mine too.
the dream is getting louder and reality is asking for receipts —
I’m offering Tarot + private 1:1 containers.
Not to predict.
To clarify.
To structure what’s real.
Saturn doesn’t care how inspired you feel.
It cares what you can hold.
If you’re ready to hold more, I have more than a decade of experience, and will meet you where you’re at.
